Exodus 10:12-15

12Then the Lord said to Moses, a“Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, so that they may come upon the land of Egypt and beat every plant in the land, all that the hail has left.” 13So Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind upon the land all that day and all that night. When it was morning, the east wind had brought the locusts. 14 cThe locusts came up over all the land of Egypt and settled on the whole country of Egypt, dsuch a dense swarm of locusts as had never been before, nor ever will be again. 15They covered the face of the whole land, so that the land was darkened, and ethey ate all the plants in the land and all the fruit of the trees that the hail had left. Not a green thing remained, neither tree nor plant of the field, through all the land of Egypt.

5 Awake, you drunkards, and weep,
and jwail, all you drinkers of wine,
because of kthe sweet wine,
for it is cut off from your mouth.
6For la nation has come up against my land,
mpowerful and beyond number;
nits teeth are lionsteeth,
and it has the fangs of a lioness.
7It has laid waste my vine
and splintered my ofig tree;
it has stripped off their bark and thrown it down;
their branches are made white.

Joel 1:11

The Hebrew words for  dry up and  be ashamed in verses 10–12, 17 sound alike

for the wheat and the barley,
rbecause the harvest of the field has perished.

Joel 2:25

Revelation of John 9:3-11

3Then from the smoke came ylocusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth. 4They were told znot to harm aathe grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, but only those people who do not have abthe seal of God on their foreheads. 5They were allowed to torment them acfor five months, but not to kill them, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings someone. 6And in those days adpeople will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.

7 aeIn appearance the locusts were like horses prepared for battle: afon their heads were what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were aglike human faces, 8their hair like women’s hair, and ahtheir teeth like lions’ teeth; 9they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was ailike the noise of many chariots with ajhorses rushing into battle. 10They have tails and stings like scorpions, and their power to hurt people akfor five months is in their tails. 11They have alas king over them the angel of the bottomless pit. His name in Hebrew is amAbaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.
 Abaddon means destruction;  Apollyon means destroyer
